Geological
Scenes of the
Datoon
Volcanic Mountains
As
we go up the highway, we see mountains in the far
side,
and praries decorate the ways like a picture. As we come near
the region, we smell of sulfur and we know we're near hotspring
country.
The
Yangmingshan region possess the following geological scenes:
1.volcanoes:Two
main types exist. The bell shaped and the cone shaped. Cone-shaped
result from the overlap of residues and lava from old eruptions.
Bell-shaped volcanoes, on the other hand, result from the slower-moving
remains of dusts from eruptions, thus usually forming a small
hill-like structure.
2.volcanic
opening:The opening of volcanoes are normally steep shallowlands
such as the Huangmouth mountains and the Little Buddha mountain.
3.eruption
site:The eruption site of volcanoes results from high-temperature
gas, such as the big and small "oilpit" mountains in
the region.
4.volcanic
lakes:the eruption sites almost always form a lake after
ages, such as the famous Tienshan Lake.
5.Yienseh
Lake:if the lava happens to block creeks
and
rivers and turn them into lakes, they're what's a called a "yienseh"
lake in Chinese such as the bamboo lake that is very popular in
this region.
